Overview

Nestling snugly atop the tarai region of the Uttarakhand, Nainital and the satellite towns has been a centre of Knowledge seekers from time immemorial. The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is presently situated in Bhimtal a town (Nagar Panchayat) in Nainital district in the state of Uttarakhand, situated at an altitude of 1370 meters above sea level which has now become mini district headquarters. The Department has recently been reincarnated as the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences with the commencement of PG and doctorate programmes under the Faculty of Technology. Department of Pharmacy was initially started in year 1997, catering to the needs of one of the remotest and difficult hilly terrains, with temporary setup at Chemistry PG Block at Nainital and subsequently shifted over to Bhimtal In October, 2004.
