he history of this college can be traced back to 1901, when Bhagwan Dev Atma, the most worshipful founder of Dev Samaj, established Girls High School, Ferozepur City. These were the times when education of girls was very much despised. This premier and popular institution served as an incentive for the establishment of many other reputed institutions in Northern India. In 1957 Dev Samaj Girls High School and Dev Samaj Junior Model School was established. Consequently, Dev Samaj College for Women, Chandigarh was started in 1981. During this short period of its existence, this college has carved a distinctive place among the local colleges and can be compared well with other colleges affiliated to Panjab University.Year of provisional affiliation is July 1981.
