Govt. Dental College & Hospital, Vijayawada was established in the year 1992 with 40 admissions for the academic year 1992 – 93 as University of Health Sciences Dental College at Vijayawada, A.P. by Dr. N, T. R. university of Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh with the permission of Dental Council of India and Govt. of India.The College functioned in two places. Main Dental Hospital along with administrative block (about 24, 000 sq. ft.) was at Old Bus stand premises and the pre clinical depts. (16,000 sq.ft) were functioning at Govt. Siddhartha Medical College, Gunadala, Vijayawada which are about 6 Kms. distance.
