Overview

Janata Mahavidyalaya, established in 1958, is one of the oldest colleges in the Vidharba region of Maharashtra and the first college in the combined Chandrapur and Gadchiroli districts.Founded by Shri.Shrihari Jiwatode Guruji, B.Sc.( Agri.), an Ex. M.L.A, the college played a very significant role in the socio-economic and cultural development of this backward region by imparting quality education to the ‘Janata’.The college has always been a beacon of hope to students from rural areas, tribal belt and the most disadvantaged sections of the society.Our motto is education for enlightenment and empowerment, and our students who passed out do well in almost all walks of life.They speak for us, and we continue our efforts with full dedication and tenacity of purpose.
