Overview

Mahamati Prannath P.G. College is situated 70 Km away from Allahabad on the Allahabad - Jhansi road at Mau (Thesil), District- Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh (India). This college was founded by Professor Mata Badal Jaiswal an eminent academician and Shri Krishna Dutt Dwivedi (Paliwal), a social worker with the help of some eminent people of this region in 1982. In the same year this college got temporary affiliation from Bundelkhand University, Jhansi in subjects History, Political Science, Economics, English, Hindi and Sanskrit literature. It was granted permanent affiliation in 1986. Later on in March 1988, it was included in the 2(f) & 12 (b) list of University Grants Commission (UGC). The college began its journey as under graduate college, but it has also started P.G courses in Hindi and Sanskrit Literature from 2006 - 07. In view of the growing demands of the Students Community and need of the hour, college has also started Job oriented courses namely Bachelor in Computer Application (B.C.A.), Diploma in Computer Application (D.C.A), Certificate Courses in Computer(C.C.C) and Diploma in Travel and Tourism Management (D.T.T.M).
