Overview

Modern Education Society’s Law College, Sirsi was established in the year1974-75. The inquisitive people of Sirsi hailed the move with all enthusiasm. The torch of legal education was lit up in a small town like sirsi mainly by the sagacity, farsightedness and missionary zeal of the dedicated persons like Late Shri .G. S. Hegde, Ajjibal, a stalwart in Co-operative Society, Late S. R. Hegde, Kadve, the key man of the TSS, Late Shri. R. G. Bhat, an eminent Law practitioner and our innovative Ex-Presidents Dr. V.S.Sonde, Shri Shantaram Hegde and ever supportive nature of present President Sri. G. M. Hegde . The Law College is permanently affiliated to Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi & recognised by the Bar Council of India. The College has been receiving grants from the Govt. of Karnataka under the Grant in aid scheme since 1987. The College has been brought under 2(f) & 12 B by UGC , New Delhi.
