Overview

Purnea Collage, Purnea established in 1948, is the oldest institution of higher education in this region . Situated on periphery adjoin west Bengal in east and Nepal in the north, the institution is a commemoration of the efforts of the freedom fighter of this area. Late dr. Lakshmi Naryayan Sudhanshu, Ram Narayan Mandal (former speaker of Bihar Legislative Assembly), Bhola Paswan Shastri (Chief Minister of Bihar ), Badyyanth Choudhary ,noted freedom fighter and sarvodaya leader ,Late Roy Bahadur Durga, Prasnna Ghosh, Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, Upendra Narain Chou dhary, Anup Lal Mehta , Hazi Ziaur Rehman , Seth Raut Mal, Kumar Bimlanand Singh, Were the inspiring force behind the establishment of this college.
