The college was started in 1968 as a joint faculty of Shri S.K.Shah & Shri Krishna Om Arts College under the dynamic leadership of Dr. D.P.Thakar veteran and versatile personality and a critic of Guajarati literature and chief editor of Guajarati vishwakosh. In the year 1974 bifurcated from Arts College and got permanent affiliation as a single faculty college from Gujarat University.
