Overview

The Congragation of Immaculate Conception with its rich experience in the field of Education felt the need for well qualified and trained teachers to impart quality Education. The dream of the Congregation culminated in the establishment of St.Justin’s College of Education. His Grace, the Most Rev. Dr. Justin Diraviam. D.D., J.U.D. ArchBishop of Madurai and the esteemed Dr. T.P. Meenakshi Sundaram, the then Vice Chancellor of M.K University, worked actively to establish the foundation.The College was declared open on 31st July 1968, affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University. The College was accredited by NAAC with B++ Grade in March 2005. Our college has included the (M.Ed) post graduate course from 17th October 2007 approved by NCTE. FSRO/ NCTE/ M.Ed., / 2006-2007/7685, dated 9-8-07 and got affiliation from the Madurai Kamaraj University Ref.No.CDC -3/Fur. Affiln. /07-08-dated 20-09-07. From 2008-2009 onwards the college is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University. In 2009-2010 additional intakes of 100 students are added to B.Ed. Now the sanctioned strength for B.Ed is 200 and for M.Ed is 35 from 2010-2011 onwards. The Nirmala Hr.Sec.School and Fatima Middle School serve as the model schools. The College is situated at 161-A, Kamarajar Salai, Madurai – 625009. The college is gradually expanding in quality and quantity and it is reaccredited by NAAC with A Grade in September.
