Overview

The Teachers Training College, Silchar is a Govt. College which provides the course on graduate teachers training programme (Bachelor of education i.e. B.Ed.). The institute is affiliated under the Assam University, SIlchar (A Central University) under University Act of 1989.The first class of B.T. College styled as Teachers’ Training College was started in 1960 and it was the first college of such kind in the Barak Valley of that time. At first it was affiliated to the Gauhati University then after with the start of Assam University its affiliation also got changed.
