Overview

The Law College established in June 1935 and one among the few oldest law colleges, is a grant-in-aid institution offering 3-year LL.B. programme, leading to LL.B. (General) and LL.B. (Special) degrees. It is also a Post-Graduate (LL.M.) Centre in Law, providing extensive teaching in Law and Deviance (Criminal Law) subjects. It is permanently affiliated to the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University and is recognised and approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI), the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Government of Gujarat. It has an Alumni Association with specific provision to associate current law students in its objective and activities. Large number of its past students are eminent advocates practising before the State and the Union Judiciary. Many of the alumni have adorned the Bench of the Supreme Court of India and several high courts, namely, Hon’ble Chief Justice A.M. Ahmedi, Hon’ble Justice D.A. Desai, and Hon’ble Justice D.C. Gheewala. Many have joined the district and the subordinate level judiciary and some of its students are pursuing advanced studies, in prestigeous law colleges/universities, abroad. The College is accredited by the NAAC with “B” Grade.
