The proposal of a Gondwana University was finalized by chief minister Prithviraj Chavan and minister for higher and technical education, during the last assembly session in Nagpur. Gondwana University is located in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra, India. It is formed for Gad-Chanda Region of Maharashtra.
